Refund and Cancellation Policy

About This Policy
This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to all purchases made through FocusCircle, a product and service operated by Stackshala Technologies Private Limited.
All payments for FocusCoin purchases are processed by Razorpay on behalf of Stackshala Technologies Private Limited. This policy explains your rights and our obligations regarding refunds and cancellations.
1. FocusCoin Purchases
1.1 General Refund Policy
FocusCoin purchases are generally non-refundable. Once coins are credited to your account, they cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded, except as explicitly stated in this policy.
1.2 Exceptions - When Refunds Are Provided
Stackshala Technologies Private Limited will provide refunds in the following circumstances:
a) Payment Processing Errors
- You were charged but did not receive the FocusCoins
- You were charged multiple times for the same purchase
- You were charged an incorrect amount
Timeframe: Report within 7 days of the transaction date
b) Technical Failures
- Service outage prevented you from using purchased coins
- System error caused loss of coins from your account
- Platform malfunction resulted in unfair coin forfeiture
Timeframe: Report within 48 hours of the incident
c) Unauthorized Transactions
- Your payment method was used without your authorization
- You can demonstrate fraudulent account access
Timeframe: Report immediately upon discovery
1.3 Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will NOT be provided for:
- Buyer's remorse or change of mind
- Coins lost due to quitting sessions early (this is by design)
- Account suspension or termination due to Terms violations
- Choosing not to use purchased coins
- Dissatisfaction with session participants or experience
- Internet connectivity issues on your end
- Voluntary account deletion with remaining coin balance
2. Session Cancellations
2.1 Before Session Starts
If you cancel your session reservation before the scheduled start time:
- More than 30 minutes before: Full coin refund (no penalty)
- Less than 30 minutes before: No refund (coins forfeited)
2.2 Session Cancelled by Creator
If the session creator cancels the session, all participants receive full refunds of their staked coins automatically.
2.3 Leaving Early
Leaving a session before its scheduled end time forfeits your staked coins. This is intentional and core to FocusCircle's accountability system. No refunds will be provided.
3. Refund Process
3.1 How to Request a Refund
To request a refund for eligible situations:
- Email support@stackshala.com with subject line "Refund Request - FocusCircle"
- Include your account email address
- Provide transaction ID or order ID from Razorpay
- Describe the issue in detail
- Attach relevant screenshots if applicable
3.2 Review Process
- We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days
- Investigation and review will be completed within 7 business days
- You will be notified of the decision via email
3.3 Refund Method and Timeline
If your refund is approved:
- Method: Refunds will be processed to your original payment method
- Processing Time: 5-7 business days after approval
- Bank Processing: Additional 5-10 business days depending on your bank/card issuer
Note: Stackshala Technologies Private Limited initiates the refund through Razorpay. The actual credit timing depends on your bank or payment provider.
4. Chargebacks
4.1 Contact Us First
Before initiating a chargeback with your bank, please contact us at support@stackshala.com. Most issues can be resolved quickly and directly.
4.2 Chargeback Consequences
If you initiate a chargeback:
- Your FocusCircle account will be immediately suspended
- All FocusCoins will be frozen pending investigation
- If the chargeback is deemed unjustified, your account may be permanently terminated
4.3 Legitimate Chargebacks
We understand chargebacks for unauthorized transactions. If you believe your payment method was used fraudulently, please notify us immediately so we can assist with securing your account.
5. Partial Refunds
In certain cases, Stackshala Technologies Private Limited may offer partial refunds at our discretion:
- Service disruptions affecting multiple users
- Goodwill gestures for service issues
- Pro-rated refunds for exceptional circumstances
Partial refunds are evaluated case-by-case and are not guaranteed.
6. No Cash Value
FocusCoins have no cash value and cannot be:
- Exchanged for real money
- Transferred to other users
- Sold or traded
- Used outside the FocusCircle platform
Even in cases where refunds are approved, coins cannot be converted to cash. Refunds are processed only to the original payment method.
7. Account Closure
If you choose to delete your FocusCircle account:
- Any remaining FocusCoin balance will be forfeited
- No refunds will be provided for unused coins
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
We recommend using or spending your coins before requesting account deletion.
8. Subscription Services (Future)
FocusCircle does not currently offer subscription services. If subscription features are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated with relevant cancellation and refund terms.
9. Changes to This Policy
Stackshala Technologies Private Limited reserves the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification.
Continued use of FocusCircle after policy changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Consumer Protection Rights
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under Indian consumer protection laws. If you are located outside India, your local consumer protection laws may provide additional rights.
